Monroe Revival
And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.    Isaiah 58:12  See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant  Jeremiah 1:10  .
Thus says the Lord: “Stand at the crossroads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way lies; and walk in it,
and find rest for your souls.” But they said, “We will not walk in it.”           Jeremiah 6:16

Prayer

A prayer for revival is nothing more nor less than praying that His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.  While this may seem most like a millenium prayer, we have no more of a desparate need for such a kingdom to be established and revealed in His saints than at this time.

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel. Mr 1:15

God is desiring an expression of His Kingdom that emanates from within His people, individually and collectively.

Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within/amid you. Luke 17:21.

Revival prayer, first of all, ispleading for an awakening among His people to the present realities of His kingdom. To cast away the false and seek the truth.  To forsake the ways of man and the world, and permit only that which is totally of God and dependent on Him for its fulfillment.

Prayer for revival - the revelation of His Kingdom on earth - is the first indication of God working in His body to will and do of His good pleasure.  We have only to embrace His desire and purpose to ask, seek, and knock until we see the reality of the things asked for, the things previously unseen (Hebrews 11:1)

While some area churches may be the beneficiaries of increased attendance, that  will come only as they pray that His kingdom and His church be increased, not ours.  It is the time for His kingdom building, not our own.  For those churches who are recipients of those seekers and followers, God holds them to be responsible not to continue "business as usual" but to determine to do or say or begin nothing that does not have its origin in the Mind of God.

When we pray this as our desperate need, and not a requirement, then God will hear from heaven and empower His Body.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

If any care to share with me their burden in this regard, I would be encouraged to learn of it.
